Webster County Genealogical Society

The Fort Dodge Public Library is home to both the Historical and Genealogical Society offices. These are both volunteer run programs and at this time are not always staffed during regular library hours. Please see below for contact information.

Reference staff members can only search for an obituary, marriage, birth announcement or other event if a specific date (month and year) is supplied. Please be aware that staff members will research all requests in the order they were received and as time permits. If you do not have a specific date or would like to receive this information more quickly, please contact the appropriate service listed below.

If you know the approximate date of the item you are looking for, you might consider borrowing a microfilm copy of the local newspaper through your local library. Microfilm may be borrowed from the State Historical Society of Iowa’s library. Your local library should be able to contact them for you.
